Frustration on Indian Roads

The very first time i crashed a car was on my way to airport.I did not realise what my fault was but i did feel i Sorry as i had damaged something.But the fact that i was not allowed to drive even one year after the accident by my family is what really makes me drive better by the day.
I had crashed into the rear fendor of a Bajaj Autorickshaw which overtook me from the wrongside without any indication, And without any clearance space left for me to maneouvre.
I was really shocked that the guy blamed me for not controlling the car.
Since then i have been cursing the fact that one third[or may be even more:O] of vehicles that ply on our roads are these painfully sick three wheelers,MOst of them are not well maintained.and breakdown at any point of time.for example when a vehicle climbs a flyover of an elevated road, It is capable of taking the ideal load that it should be subjected to, But ive many times found these dirty three wheelers slipping off the road due to them being overloaded by their drivers.The place where i stay has often seen a 150 CC three wheeler carrying 10-12 people ,inspite of the fact that it was meant to carry a maximum of three people.And i have to used it though thats the last thing on my mind everyday.
Though these three wheelers have proved to be a boon India in more than one way.It is due to their drivers that they have been abused and have eventually become hazard machines.
In one instance i found a Tata Ace driver trying to poach away customers from a rickshaw driver who was trying to load 12 people in his rick. The rickkie was obviously annoyed to the gut. But the fact that most people chose the rickshaw over was what surprised me.

Platform sharing

Car companies are looking for economies , coz it is very difficult for them to make different cars and provide the backup and support for each car individually throughout its life cycle,Coz if a car fails in the market,It becomes difficult or rather unnecessary to provide backup for its service and parts throughout its life cycle.
I am a bit late about writing this post,but am writing it now because global car makers are getting this technology to india because the market has reached a level where if necessary to survive requires a degree of platform sharing among the cars of a same brand.
The the new swift dezire or the tata indigo for instance, the share more that half the part with their hatchback counterparts,This allows the companies to make parts simultaneously fot both the hatchback and the sedan, greater similar parts results in better manufacturing quality and thus higher quality.
The company which pioneered platform sharing in india was Fiat thought they could never succeed in it because of their sales network.Fiat lunched the siena in indian in the mid nineties,though a gr8 car,siena like palio had a good start in the indian market but eventually failed.
Tata got the indica and now has expanded it into 3 platforms the indigo and the indigo/marina.
European car maker have followed this strategy for more than a decade and have been increasingly profitable.

Quality edge 2008

I got a chance to go for the quality edge 2008.It was a national level seminar emphasising on quality for global competitiveness. It was a really great experience to be there among so many engineers. It was organised by the institute of engineers india. with the Yashwantrao chavan college of engg as the host college, We were the only ones among the 9 students from all over india.Infact most people present there had doctorates and masters degrees,We were not even graduates.
I presented a paper on Reduction in accident rate by implementing TQM techniques, THe conference invited key note speakers from many companies,And it was a pleasant experience to listen to their experiences of dealing with tough circumstances during the licence raj.
It was not about winning prizes,It was more like a platform to exchange knowledge, The only drawback of the conference was in adequate time given to the participants to speak.One of the key note speakers wanted to present a presentation gaving 87 slides, one of the highest among the others so he took time equivalent to 10 other speakers.
We had keynote speakers from companies like Mahindra, ACe refractories sunflag steel and a software firm called micropro.
For the time i have been in this college,I have never seen a program to be organised decently,There were always a hundred flaws in programs which were organised in our college. But in that college the entire event was done so well that every one was surprised to know that it was done by the students of that college.
We even had a cultural meet in which the INdian idol Paarticipant Mrs Yashshree bhave had participated.

Optra looks nasty

Chevy India got a new Optra version out some time ago its called as the Optra magnum.Its has a 2.0L diesel engine and is aimed at capturing the diesel market share from the Octavia's Sales pie.Till now the Octy was the only car in the diesel engined entry D segment market.It has been one of the main players with the Corolla and the Optra for about 4 years.But it was the entry of the Civic that changed the domination.

The Optra was originally designed by the Italian design house 'Pininfarina'and looked very stunning,But it does look a bit outdated now,with the entry of newer rivals.though it has aged gracefully but still is one of the top payers in the market due to the discounts and freebies given by the GM.

The new Optra's engine is the one developed and researched by Daewoo.Like the whole of the car.The car has one of the biggest Diesel engine in the segment.But it would definately not match the solidness of the german manufactured Indian assembled Octavia.

New M3 launched

BMW launched its new M3 sometime ago.i saw the new M3 in Motor trend and i did read a review about it by them which was about 4 pages long.The new car replaces the old M3 which was highly praised for its dynamic abilities.The new car has the Chris Bangle look but it is quite subtle,Not as radical as its larger cousins the M5 or the M6

The new car has a V8 under the hood.WHich give it a significant boost from the six pot inline of the old M3.The new car is quicker than the M5 says the technical head of the BMW"S m department.The new M3 might be one of the bread &butter models [in simpler language it might be one of the maximum selling models for BMW]So it deserves the to have brain storming performance.But it keeps in line with the latest trend of the German giants to outdo their old models with a new model.

The most distinctive part of the new M3 is the Carbon fibre roof.quite a distinctive feature for a car of this category.it does make it look very diffrent.Usually caron fibre components are found in high end sports cars like Ferraris&lambos.I wonder why BMW chose to keep it black.The roof and the rest of the car give it a two coloured look.

Looks, like i said the car is not very radical.but it will look diffrent with other cars on the street.the front of the car has a very aggresive stance.though it has the traditional Beemer elements of a twin kidney grill,and double barrel headlams.The rear end looks more like a sedan with a tail lamp which stretches ofver to the boot lid.I love the airdam unit pretty conventional but the central part i.e the main airdam looks really good.

The new baby 'M'taking on AMG's C would be a fight to look out for.

The war has begun

Its been quite sometime since Microsoft and a host of other software biggies have been trying to curb piracy.Infact the whole entertainment industry has been opposing Piracy since quite some time there are a few people like Bryan Adams who have agreed that piracy is a way of life.
Piracy has a good and a bad part to it.The good part being ever since piracy has been spreading like a wild part to all the parts of the world,The customer is a given a choice to choose what he wants rather than being forced to take whatever he gets.earlier if u liked one song in an album u had to buy the whole album or movie cassette to listen to it.But now if u like a given album u can just get it from a pirated CD vendor and listen to it as much as u want for less half the price u have to pay for a legal copy of the same thing.Infact peer to peer networks though they are not exactly pirated stuff enable a user to get music,videos and softwares and a large no of other media for no cost at all.Imagine getting microsoft authentic software like windows media player 11,Internet explorer 7 without validating ur copy of windows. or geting ur windows authenticated without paying for it.Piracy in a way or two does provide employment to many people and it provides them with a source to earn money.Due to piracy a large no of people can see and experience a large variety of media.Earlier we could watch only a limited no of films but now due to piracy we can watch for movies with DVD quality video for the price of one in a multiplex.
And at the same time piracy is bad because its is affecting the legal rights of the people who produce the media severely,Several record companies are having losses in billions of dollars.
The only way piracy can be curbed is by getting the prices of authentic legal media to be more or less equal to the price of the pirated media.that would help considerably but that needs to be done simultaneously with the launch of the media.If it is done after a substantial amount of time has passed after the launch the given media then the value of media would depreciate considerably.this is because the pirated version of any given media hits the market as soon as the media is launched the market or sometimes it is launched even before the media is launched.this way of curbing piracy has been adopted by Optical media giant Moser Baer.
Piracy has its affiliation with viruses,many pirated products as much as 50%or may be even more have viruses on them .So Microsoft wanted to fight both of them that led to the dvelpment of the Frtiz chip.
Fritz chip the latest tool on piracy.
Microsoft has recently formed a group of software and hardware who will or are willing to be a part or rather an ally in its war against piracy and viruses.This group has all biggies in the world od IT and electronics.Companies like Dell,HP and many other are a part of this group.To be a partof this group a certain sum approximately 7500$ has to be paid.This is not good for open source and freelance software developers because 7500$ is big money and many small time software developers may not be able to afford it.
The friz chip is a chip which will be embedded in the motherboard of PCs or in the main circuit board of any electronic item manufactured by Microsoft's allies.This chip would have the detailed information of the the systems hardware and the softwares installed in it legally.From this data the chip will generate a code which might be an alpha numeric code.this code will be used to cross check the machines compatibility with any software which might have to be installed in it.If a software has to be installed its requirements[in a coded form ]will be compared with the code stored in the fritz chip,if they do not match the software simply wont work.Microsoft may have collected a large amount of data about the individual machines of their users,by the error reports that they recieve in the event of a program not working.just imagine buying a pc and not being able to install the things u want in it.
As the old chinese symbolism of a black spot in white surroundings and a white spot in black surroundings explaines if this move is bad it will have something good to it.Or even if the move is good it will have something bad to it.And hackers will definately not give up without a fight.I hope and pray that something in everyones consideration comes out as a result of this fight for supremacy.

my first crash

Today i again went to the airport to pick up a close family pal.though today i started late and the rain was not to bee seen,I had a lot of confidence,and unlike last time when the car had an old set of wipers,This time we had an entirely new set of wipers,So i could see the road more clearly,Infact conditions were pretty ideal.And i was accompanied by a cousin who was and has always been very encouraging to me.he has always tried to guide me very well when i drive . in a way hes been a backbone all thoughout my life.
I started the car initialy the way i usually do But today i did it quite precisely.ANd there was not shruddering.i could manouvere it perfectly.And today i was quite confident that i could take it to speeda above 60 the limit that i had set for myself.And i was in the 4 th gear for a long time and i could easily remain in it.Not even once did i think of downshifting,ONly once did i miss my way,Though i should have remembered it coz i had been to the airport only 2 days ago still i took the flypver and that stretched for another 6 kms both way,Then eventually we reached the airport entrance, the road is mostly straight.,At the next junction i slowed down there was a mess at the right side near the divider and i slowly stopped the car .I was on the extreme right very close to the divider as per the rules i should have taken a right turn and i should have gone in the right direction,But till the signal was red i shut down the engine,once the green light started i just shifted the gear into a neutral by the time i had put the gear a rickshawalla sheared off the bumper, And he did it so badly that i could not believe my eyes when i saw the bumper to be cut in the left
After recieveing th person we wanted to from the terminal 2 again it was me behind the wheel but this time i knew all the roads perfectly and i was determined to drive perfectly.I started the car perfectly normally the way i always start it,And by the time we were on the western express highway the rains were lashing the car very \nbadly.But i drove it steadily knowing that this would be the last time id be touching the wheel.By the time we had crossed Sion the rain was lashing way too badly.And it was really difficult to maintain the high speed i was in considering my \nvisibility.Eventually we reached home but the sight of a crashed Ford Mondeo which was stranded on the highway sent shock waves through my heart.\u003c/div\>\n\u003cdiv\> When i came back home my cousin explained me why i should not be asking the car from anyone and i did realise that it was my fault i should have not been in the right track.But one thing was certain that i would not get the car for a second \ntime.Next morning my grandpa didnt come to know anything abt the crashed bumper but when my cousin told him about that .he didnt say anything, then when i asked him whether i could accompany him to the office he blankely refused.

3000Kms in 10 days........one tiresome trip

It all started when the rumour for the external Viva's was being floated around in the college.Everyone started saying that the vivas would be starting on the 10 .I was excited coz that meant i could go to my native place.i had been longing for a chance like this coz i was really the chance i had been looking for.

i alcutlly wanted to leave from the place i live i.e jal but i could not find a train from there to UD,there was a train from Bh which would go to the same state but i could not take it because i was not sure that it would stop at the station close to our district,And our village being a remote one its be a problem to go from ma station to such a remote part which still has a lot of development waiting to be happen there.
After i reached Nak i was very relaxed.It was holiday time afterall.Though i had only 5 days at hand,but it seemed to be almost a whole month.My cousins were already there .And good homely South food was what i had been longing for since quite some time.For all the five days i was there my family members followed a very simple formula to get tanked up.The made fish curry for one day and ate it for the remaining two days.There would hardly be any time weve been there and these people havent put their fishy formula to a good use.And i made my delicacies with intricacy only for my stomach to have a gourmet treat.
I and my sis both infact she is a very good photographer,Not that i am very bad,Got many pics on our cams.Infact she spotted an Owl,And she being a die hard harry potter fan was delighted at the sight of it.There were 2 Owls sitting one the leaf of a coconut Tree,and luckily they seemd to not mind that we were flashing our cam flash bulbs on them coz the sky was lit up with lightening.She got many pics a number of them were very good.But i did find her the spots.
On 2 occasions we went out for getting pics and we discovered the village like we had never done before.We went to a church a little our of the village and had a round trip all across the fields.We even found a dead snakes skull but one thing that we both got many pics was of sunsets.I regretted leaving my cams USb cord back in Mumbai and i really suspected the memory to play foul by taking only 32 pics but it was on the return journey back to mumbai via Goa did i realise its capacity to take app 300 pics and i marvelled at it but pulled my hair for being so choosy.This was the first time that my train passed through Goa during the day time and i got many pics.Some of them are pretty good.
i didnt have proper tickets for going and coming.And i did have problem while going i was quite chilled out with some cool mallu's.But while coming back i had to confine my self to one seat for 15.30 Hrs really i didnt even drink water for the fear of going to toilet silly isnt it,but after loggin 3000KMS,in 10 days after 4 hectic train journeys i feel the juice is worth the sqeeze.

Going Vertical

Its been quite some time since i have wanted to write abt this .The first company to go vertical on their grill design was Audi.Their Novoulari concept was quite radical,But the major diffrence it had was a vertical grill.It was quite practical.And the concept was what spawned the Audi A6.
Since the time the A6 was launched,all Audi models have got the vertical grill.The best looking of them in the Audi Q7.This butch looking SUV suits looks perfect with the vertical grill.The vertical grill has also been named as the Bulgarian beard by some automobile journalists.
The vertical grill has its own advantages,It carves a diffrent identity for the Audi brand.To some extent it might be aiding the aerodynamics of the car.And some of the models [a handful]do look good.The A4[in particular] looks really good.
I saw the A6 person but i didnt like it.Thought a BMW 5 would have recieved more criticism that an A6,The A6 still bagged many awards.
Since Audi many car makers have tried to get a vertical grille design on their cars.Audi's parent company believes in installing a partial vertical grille on their cars.Their recent models have vertical grilles but only the upper part of those grilles are chromed to be attractive.
The Fiat group showed its intentions of going vertical with the Alfa Brera.Though a work of art,The Brera has a very good design.Quite futuristic.Then came the grande punto with a very Maseratish grill.
Now even Mercedes may be getting a vertical grille.I suppose Mercedes is looking for directions in their car designs.they take inspirations from other car maker especially BMW.Earlier Lexus was the one who used to do so.But With the new GS Lexus has managed to proove a point abt its capability.

My Health

Its been quite some time since i came to know abt a cavity in my right[l]Molar.The cavity was quite deep rooted.But i totally ignored it.As during those days i had my exams going on.Today i went to a dentist after i suppose 3 years.She sprayed water vapour in mouth in the effected area of the tooth and then started digging it.Initially i did not have any pain.But then she started digging hard in my teeth saying that i should have treated it earlier.Finally she put a mixture of dry cement in the tooth and lemme go.She told me to come after 8 days so that she could fill silver in my teeth.I actually was quite shocked in the first place to have such a big cavity in my teeth.Althroughout the time i have been in Jalgaon.I have been the only one who brushed his teeth regularly.None of my pals do so.
My teeth enamel is really weak or so i feel.Earlier i had braces installed to get my irregular teeth in order.I have a yellow patch right on my fron teeth.Which prooves the above point.Infact i dont have 4 teethi.e premolars.I had to loose them without even using them properly,Coz the doc i consulted insisted on me removing them.So now i have only 28 teeth of which 3 are rotten.
Thats just one of the problems i am facing with my body.My eyes have weakened.the number of my glasses has increased .I wonder what can i do to save my eyes.Earlier i always felt that my no had increased cause i used to dit for hrs infront of my old CRT monitor.Now i rarely use a computer.
Besides this i had a small tumour in my thigh.I was quite worried abt it.I went to see out family Doc the day i came back from Jalgaon.But he was not there.There was a sign board that read that he'd be back on the 13thI went again on the 13th but he was still not there.The tumour had not been painful.Finally today when i met him he declared that it was a kind of tumour that developed in the nerve cells itself.and was not dangerous.
I eagerly await my first silver operation.

My Music

i havent been a very big music fan althrough my life.recently i started listening to rock.And i must admit that i love some selected songs.Earlier i never understood why people loved rock.But when i heard and understood the songs by Eminem and linking park.I could figure out the meaning behind those words spoken in anger which sounded rhythmic to a select people across the world.
I stated listening to English music about 10 years ago.back then my sis used to dance to JLO's tunes.i never liked JLO,But i have always been a big fan of Bryan Adams.initially just to ape her was how i started listening to English.But a few of cousins made me try some Spanish music like Fey Which i liked instantly.Thought i dont have any of her recent albums.
In my family,we have a large no of Music fanatics,My dad likes Hindustani,My mom has been learning calssical music since a couple of years.I have a cousin bro who is a big fan of Pink Floyd,Beatles and Other old time English groups.My uncle has always been a big fan of Elvis Presley.
I have a very wide and varied collection of a large no of artists.Though a few recent favourites are as follows
1.John Mayer
2.Vertical Horizon
3.Staind
4.Daina Degarmo
I must say that i have got a large amount of my taste attributed to my pal JA.

Been there done that

I am back home.I came from Chandigarh some time back.
i have not been keeping well since quite sometime.I still have a lot of cold and cough.In Chandigarh i had got loose motions.All throughout the 3 rd sem i have been having loose motions.Sometimes it used to be so severe that i felt like coming back home.But i did not,Maybe it was because of the mess which supplied me with food,But i feel it was due to the negligence of the municipal Authorities of Jalgaon.During the monsoons the water supplied by them had a layer of white slimy substance on it,Even the day when the selections were held i was really feeling ill.
The trip to Chandigarh was one of the most meorable ones in my life.We had a lot of fun.Infact the best swimmers there have become my pals via the net.i may get some guidance by speaking to them.Ofcourse they are really high calibre people.
As for performance i could not perform that well.For the relay,My performance was really bad.I could not go straight and i kept getting injured by crashin into the railings.
But for my event i borrowed a pair of swimming goggles which were beter than mine and i could see the black strip which guided me well enuf to complete second last.
I was really sad that i could not perform the realay well.

Going to Chandigarh

I have been selected to go for the Inter University Acquatic Championships 2006-2007 to be held in CHandigarh .I am in the seventh heaven.i knew that this would happen but i didnt expect it to happen so early.For the year 2005-2006,the inter university championships were held in january 2006.
Our 1 st sem is about to end in a week or two and i still have to write my workshop journal and a number of files to be completed .
Most importantly i will not be able to go home as i had planned earlier and i wont be able to attend my bro's marriage.

Chikungunya everywhere

Its been more than a month since the college reopened,everyday since i came back to Jalgaon,I have been hearing cases of people around me bieng infected by 'Chikungunya'.
I had been ill since a long time.On 25th i had my Swimming competition[Intercollegiate level].My timing for 100 MTS was 1.05.32.and for 50 MTS was 27.30 secs.I wont say anything much about it but all i can say that i tried my best ,I could have done better had i have kept well.the 20 days i spent prior to the matches were really tense.I had sever stomach problems,Then finally one day the owner of the room in which i live took me to a doc.And his wife promptly gave me some good home cooked food and boiled water.And that was when i got two major sprains in my Calf i could not stand up in the pool,somehow my pals got me home.
Our college team got disqualified in relay cause one of my pals could not complete 75MTS,There were only 2 teams competing for realy the other team was from Faizpur and they were really bad in swimming.
One of my room mates could successfully get admission in Anjumjan i Islam Saboo Siddik college of engineering.He was the only one amongnst the 180 of us to transfer to another college.
It feels like 1st year again cause everything is new in our class about half the total no of student s are new admissions from Gujrat,And all the professors are good,The college is slowly changing,We have something new every Saturday and there seem to be many big events after a GS has been selected.
i am about to complete 'The Alchemist'by Paulo Coelho.It is a really good book.And the writing is very poetic.Icould have completed it in 1 day had it not been for the college and classes.One of my classes have ended and the other one i suppose will go on till the end of this sem.
The climate is kina strange coz it seems like itll rain but it does not and then the sun starts shining.
Its after a long time that i have made this post,I am sorry for those 'handful people'who might have checked my blog expecting a new post.Now that the net connection in my college has been restored i hope that itll be like that. will write more soon.

Blasted off

Two days ago Seven blasts occoured on the Mumbai local trains one after the other in quick succession.These were one of the bloodiest ones ever in Mumbai.the stations and the railway tracks were strewn with body parts.The train compartments were ripped open.Today a meeting has been arranged in AZAD MAIDAN between 6.30-7.00PM to mourn the tragedy.I request all the people to be present there with candles and matchboxes.
I was at home when the blasts occured,And all my family members are safe.one of our very important employees was in the same train.Luckily he was safe and was stuck at Bhayandar station without any help for hours.
I will be leaving for Jalgaon soon.i have been getting calls from pals to come early But i dont feel like leaving.My room partners have already reached.But i havent even packed my bags as yet.I need to geta few things,and most importantly complete my driving sessions.i have been taking classes twice a day to complete them.And have abt 8-9 more sessions to go.
I will have to come back once i go, to test test my driving skills at the RTO.I know ill pass it easily.I think i can drive nicely.now a days my instructor does not intrude much when im driving.He justs tell me to slow down occasionaly.Rest of the time he is busy humming an old Hindi classic song.He does not allow me to control the brakes.I drove twice on the eastern express highway.It was fun driving there.Thats when he allowed me to engage the 4 gear in the car.I like the indigo very much.The engine is very resposive.The turbo pitches in at ab 4000-5000RPM ,which really makes the driving experience memorable.But in my case the moment i start pushing the car to its limit,My instructor tells me to slow down.I wish the gearbox in the car would have been a bit better,cause it takes a lot of 'muscle power' to engage and disengage a gear'

floods again

Its been 5 days since it has been raining.its really boring to stay at home.i dont have an internet connecttion in my new Pc.So i cant do much either.Its really sad,with nothing to do and water level rising.
By the end of the second day out entire compound was strewn with plastics and other garbage,which came drifting along with the flood water.The news was boring as they just showed the same videos again and again.the water logging in our area would only persist for sometime like abt 4 hours or something.But then all the water would get drained off.
But althroughtout the day people kept moving,There were cars going and a number of shops were open.NON STOP MUMBAI

Learning to drive.

I have joined a driving school to learn to drive.i always wanted to drive.Infact,i could turn a sedan without anyones help.It was feat for me.I had tried the same thrice and the third time the car's bumper got scratched.
I will be learning to drive in a Tata Indigo.The course will last for 22 days.Then i will be getting a driving licence.I had to go to RTO today to get a temporary driving licence.and will be getting it soon.
I will soon have new PC.Itll be a lot better than the one i am using right now.Itll have a Dual core processor,a DVD writer,Intel 945 G motherboard and a 15"LCD monitor[or probably 17"].512 MB of DDR2 RAM.I have almost finalised with my dealer and the Pc will will be delievered in a couple of days.
I have completed 300 pages of Harry Potter and 'The half blood price'.I hope ill be able to complete it soon.Its is a very good book.but i hardly find time to read it continously.I make it a point to read it as much as i can at night.I have read all the previous 5 books of the Harry Potter series.The most exciting one as i feel was the 5 the book.I think it was also the biggest one.
Besides this book ,i'm gonna buy Chetan Bhagat's 'One night at the call centre'.I liked his book:'Five point something' very much.I had finished it in 24 hours when i had my submissions.

exams over!!!!!!!

Finally,my exams are over,I am in Bombay now.All my papers were good,but i was not very happy about them cause i know that i will pass in all of them. But i feel i could have done better in each one of them.When i was in school atleast 3 exams in every sem would be good for me.But then this time exam time was very different for me,i was not tensed as i usually used to be earlier,I was calm, It was the longest one i have ever had then i was ill,i was severely dehydrated during my Civil paper.Then for the first time i had to go to a doctor in Jalgaon.Then the day before the last paper i had a severe problem with my stomach,which still persists.
I dont know why all that happened,everything was alright only that i was having oral ulcers[for the 1 st time in my life]then one morning i wake up[just 2 days before Civil Engg paper]to find my eyes burning ,I almost felt like fainting.then luckily one of my friends from my hostel helped me out.The doc told me to a cooler place.but i couldnt have changed my room when i had only a week to live in it.
My room was pathetic during summer,because it had windows in the left so i had hot air blowing right into the room.then since it was a corner room one the floor,the walls would get heated up,and then it felt as if it was a hot oven.
My return journey to Mumbai was a pathetic one.There were many ticketless passengers who were granted by the conductors.I even kicked one of them unknowingly when i was sleeping as they were sleeping on the floorboard.I wanted to take the train but i didnt get one.
All throught the exam i had a very good pal supporting me,He will be my room mate next year,he understands me very well,and i am lucky to have a friend like him.
Then there as been an angel who has turned around my life.wont tell about that person!any guesses?????????????????????????

This time when i came home..

This time i came home only for 4 days,i can spend more time here, but i need to go back as only 20 days are remaining for my exams.This time i knew that i would not be able to stay here for long,in SEM 1 i had come home for abt 9 days.This time i came home because i was really bored there,the conditions were really bad,we had no power for many hours in a day,the food was getting worser by the day and the weather was really extreme.
Jalgaon has severe power cuts,sometimes power is cut for an hour or two in the middle of the night,and with mosquitos buzzing around and sucking every ounce of blood from my body,i cant sleep.Power cuts have been there since quite some time,but every time in summer the situation intensifies like never before.there is more waiting for me when i get there,the temperatures will keep soaring and the food might get worser.All this might be the worst exams time i have ever had in my life.
Since the past 15 days or so,we are having a visitor in our house,how has now become a resident,It is a very small bird which has made a nest in our window.it seems to be a cuckoo.It had a regal crest on its head.it is black in colour but it has a big red patch in the posterior side of its body.there are 3 chicks in the nest.It would have been fun watching them grow up.
I have my exams on 10thMay.the papers will be getting over on 12 June.and after a day or 2 ill be back here.

Arjun Singh

This post is specially dedicated to Mr Arjun Singh[the HRD minister of India].I must say that he is the worst minister and his efforts to keep the legacy of his counterparts to discriminate among people in our country will eventually fail.I am in the league of all the bloggers who have condemned him seriously since he made a proposal of having quotas in educational institutions.He might have done something similar in 1990 when the same problem had erupted,and there were huge demonstrations.And thats when a guy on his early twenties immolated himself to protest against Arjun Singh.
Mr Arjun Singh does not know what Merit is! He just wants to get votes of Dalits by favouring them.Its is a shame that we have such ministers in our country who do not want equality prevailing in the education system in our country.
I know that the plight of dalits living in the rural parts of India is very bad.And it is a fact that Dalits have suffered for generations.But then past cannot be changed.And i think awareness among the general public and strict laws are the only way the life of Dalits can be changed.

The end of internal VIVAs

Finally my internal VIVAs have ended for this year.Most of the VIVA's i gave were quite good,the only exceptions were EEE{Elements of electrical engineering}and ET[Engineering Thermodynamics]E.T was not that bad but EEE was really bad.I had initially planned to go home as soon as all my VIVAS ended,according to the initial time table, all my VIVAs were about to end on the 6th.and i would have gone to attend my cousins engagement.But then......
Today we had a photo session in our college.It is held in April every year.I was in two photos, as i am a university level player.Though they did take a few students who were not .there were even a handful of students who had not participated at all.The photos taken today will be posted in the college magazine.they may also be posted on the new prospectus.
From now on i will have to be more committed towards sports.
i will start practising as soon as i get back to Mumbai.I need to get a decent timing for the events in which i participated[mainly 100 mts freestyle].
I am sad that i had to quit swimming 2 years ago,when i was told be my dentist that if i continue swimming then my enamel would be severly damaged .I could have opted for a better pool but it would have been very expensive,and with my 12th exams i had no other option but to quit my favourite sport.

VIVA started

I have been really busy lately.we had our submissions going on.It was quite hectic to be working for 12 hrs a day.I did finish everything on time.
Today i had my first VIVA.I could perform well.

TRIP TO NANDURBAR:
Bang in the middle of the night ,i was woken up by my room mate.
"we need to go to Nandurbar"he said.
We started at 4 in the morning.We had to cover approximately 183 KMS by road on the bike.
It was quite a good experience.The air was cold and there were no street lights.We drove at 90-100Km/hr for most of the time,unless in small towns that we occasionly crossed.We had to first go to Dhule then take the road to Nandurbar.Dhule is about 100 kms from Jalgaon.Then Nandurbar is about 83 KMs from there.we only stopped once for Tea.Infact in our return journey we didnt even stop once.
Nandurbar was a small city.It is a district.It was given importance by the British government.There is one old railway station there which we could not see.I had been to Nandurbar for a pals sisters wedding.The wedding was good.
The road to Nandurbar was empty for most of the time.
Nandurbar was the first place where bird flu was discovered.Recently wind mills have also been installed there to generate electricity.
But one unfortunate event did occur,my cell phone's display was damaged when a friend accidently dropped it.I was really disappointed after that.I loved this phone very much.At that time he had promised to pay me to make good of what was damaged.But when we came back he turned a deaf ear to all my requests.Then I complained and finally he agreed to pay half the amount.
Then i went to a shop to repair it.He did the job in about 15 mins or so,and charged me Rs 300/- for that.But actuallyinstaed of replacing the whole thing,all he did was to heat the surface of the display to get the crystals of the LCD in a specific order.
It no longer looks as good as it once used to.

Holi

We celebrated Holi on the on 15th .It was quite fun getting ourselves in colour.We also had a feast in the mess the same morning.I had been waiting for this day to come since quite some time,because it is my favourite festival.I have been celebrating holi since my childhood.But the i used to play holi only in my colony.But as i gerw up,i visited my friends during holi and we used to go out.Once we had been to a party organised by the 'Marwari' community.However this was my best holi .We got our hostelwarden drenched in colour
Today i have started learning the basics of 'AUTOCAD'.I wanted to learn this from quite some time . i had got its software sometime ago, and had it installed in my pc.but then I had to eventually remove it as it took a lot of space.

term work

I am heavily burdened due to the load of term work on my shoulders.The teachers of F.E might be finding it fun to give so much term work at a time.
I have completed my workshop which was about 46 pages to be written [with loads of daigrams] .My chemistry practicals have also been completed[they were a total of 6]I had completed my Physics pracs but then we were told that we had two more to write.I have completed Thermodynamics[practicals] and still have to write one more assignment or more if the sir would like to add a few.in ECE i need to complete two assignments and one practical.IN C.F i have 5 more to go.and in Graphics i have the third sheet to complete.I have completed writing Pracs for EEE.
Since a few days a pal of mine who is trusted by many in college was asking for my workshop dairy.I was initially skeptical to give it to him.but i obliged. then on the same day i was shocked to know that the same book was lying in the foundry section unattended.and my pal had gone home without knowing that the book was not in his bag.when i went to the foundry section,the sir was very angry with me.he gave me a big sermon.finally he let me go.
The next day when i met the same guy,he told that some one had tried to steal it from his bag.I could not believe his words.I still feel that he is lying. thank god that i was saved.
I am waiting eagerly for 15 .Itll be exciting as we all will be celebrating Holi in the hostel.
A few of my pals have gone home.and the hostel feels a bit empty.It would feel more so when the Diploma guys in the hostel would be going home.they will finish with their exams in April.Hats off to those fellas,[the ones from Bihar]they really have great courage .I have learnt many values from them.They are ones who have stayed in the hostel for maximum time.even when the hostel was empty they stayed there without any support .I may plan to go for a few days when we'll have our PL.
This is the last month we will be attending the college for this year.the next month,we will be having a PL[preparational leave]then in May we 'll have our exams.

Back from the trip

I returned from the trip on the morning of 5th.i reached my hostel at 4.00AM.All of us were very exhausted.I brushed my teeth and slept rightaway.
The trip can be said to be decent.we had many complications.however the worst part was the dinner at Shirdi.Where food was thrown around everywhere.It was quite dirty.I dont know why our principle chose to not give us food that night[Maybe he felt that the cook was very tired!]the plates in which the food was served had traces of dirt on it.
It seemed to be more like a trip to the holy places that a trip for Environmental engineering.Because we went to so many places which were temples.
we went to the following temples:
1.Shani Shingnapur,
2.Shridi[Nashik]
3.Sapt ShringiDevi Temple[Wani]

We also went to the Bibi ka Maqbara,and the Jayekwadi dam near Aurangabad.these two places were really worth bieng seen.But unfortunately we reached Bibi ka Maqbara at night so we could not see it in its full splendor.It was in a bad shape.thoughbieng ina city like Aurangabad it was a pity that it was so poorly maintained.
The Jayekwadi dam was also a very good plave .It was built by the first engineer of our country,i.e Visverwara m..........[Thats what our principle told us].It was quite a big dam which was made in 1965 during the reign of our late prime minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri.during the making of this dam close to 180 villages had been evacuated .
We spent close to 4 hrs in an Indian oil petrol pump.where we had our food and started for Jalgaon.

College Trip

I am glad that i will be leaving for Aurangabad with my fellow classmates today.The college has organised a trip for us.well be leaving tonight at 11.00PM from here.The trip has been organised for a subject called Environmental Sciences.which is essentially a part of our subject called environmental engineering.The principle may accompany us along with a few teachers.I am happy that most of my pals will be coming.We will be coming back on the 4 in evening.
I have completed writing my workshop term work.It was quite a big thing.I am been trying to complete it since many days,as i could not do it continously as many of my pals did.
As soon as i will be back from the trip,I will have my mom coming to Jalgaon to see my college.And on the same day I will be having a test in M2 at my classes.I hope i am able to balance the work and play perfectly to get some decent marls in the test.
Even in the college,The tests and extra lectures have been started as i had expected.Today we were supposed to have a test of two units on Thermodynamics,I had known about it.But somehow,the sir did not come to college today,so i was lucky.But still i could not get my sheet of E.G checked.
I will write more about the trip when ill be back!

Reached Jalgaon.

I reached today morning.luckily i could sleep on the bus.but i was really tired after the journey.after reachingmy room i saw that the layout of the room was completely changed,it was very diffrent from what it used to be some time ago.w no longer sleep on beds,themattress has been layed out on the floor because they say the heat of summer season has already begun.the beds in which we used to sleep have been folded.and have been kept on one side of the room.my luggage is been kept in the corner of the room.i will be sleeping between my two room mates.And the two tables have been kept together. I dont think i will be able to enjoy the new arrangement because we hardly have any space remaining.The room nolonger feels to be as large and spacious as it used to be.
I came to college to find that our practicals for the subject Thermodynamics may be cancelled.then now i am in the net lab where the pathetic mouse is really irritating.but i am happy that the broadband internet has started.and now i hope that i will soo have ads posted on my blog.

Back to college

i will be leaving for Jalgaon tonight.I will have to go by Uncle travel's bus.It is quite good value at Rs 200\-for a distance of 430 KM.Though the bus is not maintained well.Iwould consider myself to be fortunate if could get some sleep.The only good aspect about this bus is that it drops me right at my doorstep.and it is really convienient.It gets me there earlier than its competitors.
Tomorrow i will have to get back to my tough schedule.I will have college as usual,And i am afraid i will have a lot of extra lectures to.Then I will have my tutions[i have taken extra coaching for Thermodynamics,maths2]
And i will have all my pals in the hostel hounding me for what i have got to eat and the car magazines.
I was not very lucky time . I could get only three magazines this time.one Autocar[Feb06],one topgear[jan06]and one B.S.M[jan06]of which i have read 2[not completely though]
